Botetourt County Animal Control and Angels of Assisi are working to rescue numerous cats from a house in the Troutville area.
The rescue has been ongoing since May 19, and as of Monday, May 31, more than 40 cats have been taken to Angels of Assisi. Animal Control Officer Kevin Crowder said there are a few more to be caught. The rescue will be ongoing until all the cats living inside and outside of the residence have been rescued.
Medical evaluations have been done at Angels of Assisi. Most of the cats are in pretty good condition, Crowder said, but some need additional medical care and procedures. Angels of Assisi will continue to assess the care needed for the cats as they are brought in.
“We are working tirelessly to take care of the influx of cats,” says Dayan Reynolds, director of communications at Angels of Assisi. “We are so thankful that we are able to help these cats get the medical care and rehabilitation they so desperately need. At this time, we are asking for donations to help with the treatment and care of these precious cats.”
Angels of Assisi expects to receive more cats from this property. To support the care of these cats, you can make a contribution at https://www.angelsofassisi.org/donate-now/.
