This is a three-inch metal commemorative coin that was found at an estate sale. It was donated on April 10, 2022, by Karla Hagen Wendell to the Botetourt County History Museum. On the back is written in all capital letters: “Here on January 20, 1775, the Committee of Safety of Fincastle County adopted Resolutions boldly declaring their determination never to surrender the rights and privileges granted to them as Virginians closing with this assertion these are our real though unpolished sentiments of Liberty and Loyalty and in them we are resolved to live and die.”
