Botetourt County has once again kicked off its annual #BOCOGrateful campaign, a community tradition launched in 2021 to celebrate the season of gratitude each November.
This year’s theme draws inspiration from the timeless words of Mister Rogers, encouraging residents to “look for the helpers” in their own neighborhoods. The campaign aims to spotlight the many ways people in Botetourt give back — from volunteers who tutor students and organize food drives to those who lend a hand at festivals, shelters, and community events.
“Volunteers come in all varieties,” county officials shared in announcing the campaign. “Whether they give an hour or a lifetime, each act of service adds up to something extraordinary. We want to celebrate them.”
Residents are invited to participate by submitting the name and story of a local “helper” at botetourtva.gov/BOCOgrateful, or by giving them a social media shoutout using the hashtag #BOCOgrateful.
Selected stories will be featured throughout the month on county social media channels and communications, shining a light on the people who make Botetourt a caring and connected community.
