Botetourt County and the Botetourt County Economic Development Authority are accepting applications for the 2026 Small Business Grant Program, which provides financial assistance to eligible small businesses making investments in their operations.
A total of $75,000 is available through this year’s program. Applications must be submitted by Thursday, Oct. 2.
Awards typically range from $2,000 to $10,000. Businesses seeking more than $10,000 may be considered but must demonstrate that the grant will be matched by new private capital investment.
Eligible uses include building improvements and expansions, machinery and new equipment, marketing services, accounting and other professional services.
Applicants must be for-profit businesses physically located and based in Botetourt County, have 100 or fewer employees across all locations and have been in full operation since May 1, 2026.
Since 2024, the Small Business Grant Program has provided more than $100,000 in assistance to dozens of Botetourt County businesses, helping local entrepreneurs make targeted investments in their operations.
Previous recipients include Mountain Thyme Honey, which used grant funding to install a self-service honey kiosk; Buchanan Butchery, which added a display refrigerator to expand its meat offerings; and Local Lemon, which purchased a commercial ice machine to support its operations.
