Botetourt Fair will feature old and new exhibits

With great excitement we announce that the Botetourt County Fair will be held August 11 and 12 at the Buchanan Town Park!

As of February 2023, the Botetourt County Fair is a qualified incorporated 501(c)(3). The move to tax-exempt status allows the fair board to expand the event in years to come, as well as ensures its future for generations to come.

The mission of the Botetourt County Fair is the preservation of the past, promotion of the present, and education of the future of agriculture.

The fair’s goal is to hold and promote a county fair each year to serve as its primary medium to achieve its mission. The primary focus of the county fair is to serve as a showcase of the talents of the youth of the community by providing a means of education, exhibit and competition of the various animal and non-animal projects the youth are involved in. The fair will also highlight the heritage of the community, and its ties to agriculture, industry, and businesses.

You can expect the 2023 fair to feature all the community favorites, as well as some new events and exhibits! The board is especially proud to announce that the well-loved “homemaking” contest will be reimagined to host more entries in what our participants last year named The Farmhouse, located at the Community Center beside the carnival grounds. It is never too early to start fine tuning the secret ingredients in your special pie or to secure that one-of-a-kind yarn for your knitted project. A full list of fair competitions is available on the Fair website, BotetourtCountyFair.com. We cannot wait to see (and taste) your creations! You can also expect to enjoy many of the traditional agricultural exhibits and shows that you have come to love over the years.

This year’s fundraising season brings multiple sponsorship opportunities, both corporate and individual.

More information on the sponsorship levels can be found on the website. Any level of support is welcome and donations can be made by visiting the Facebook Page (Botetourt County Fair) or visit the secure payment portal: https://pay.getbeyond.com/link/O64SSJlTSkykkgjbMTw0lQ.

You can also send a check to Botetourt County Fair Board Inc., 1465 Lakeridge Circle, Troutville, 24175.

The Board of Directors is excited for the opportunities ahead but knows the support from this generous community is vital to continued success and growth. Please know you can reach out to the Board (BotetourtCountyFair@gmail.com) if you have any questions.
