The Botetourt Golf & Swim Club will be the site of a Region 2C “sub-region” tournament next Monday. James River is in the field as the Knights hope to keep their season alive on their home course.
The top three teams at the BG&SC will advance to the Region 2C tournament, along with the top six individuals that are not on one of the top three teams. The region tournament will be at Great Oaks on Monday, October 7.
James River had a match at Great Oaks last Thursday with Floyd and Galax. Freshmen Mason Gilliland and Landon Bolling both shot 78 on the par 72 course to lead the Knights. Mason Francis improved by 21 strokes over the last time River played the difficult Great Oaks course.
“This is a great time for the team to be peaking,” said coach Donna Cox.
