The Lord Botetourt golf team competed in an intra-squad tournament for the “Cavalier Cup” last week as a way to prepare for the coming post-season tournaments.

The team was split up into two squads with LB’s top two players, Brett Pennington and Joe Crump, choosing up sides. The scoring was an adjusted Stableford points format, where each golfer earned points for scoring. The golfer would earn 1 point for a bogie, 2 points for a par, 3 points for a birdie and 4 points for an eagle. The teams played 5 holes each day, for a total of 15 holes.

Team White held a 3-point lead going into the third and final day of competition. Team Red took the lead by two strokes, with one group still to come in, but Team White finished strong with a team score of 120 points, beating Team Red’s 114 points.

Team Red team members were Kaitlyn Mosdell, Caleb Sage, Brett Pennington, Logan Hollandsworth, Nathan Butler and Samir Davidov.

The Cavs have two matches scheduled for this week, at Blue Hills on Tuesday and at Blacksburg on Thursday.
