A Botetourt County grand jury returned indictments against 57 individuals when it met March 5 in Fincastle.

Thirty six of the individuals had direct indictments returned against and 21 were certified indictments.

Indictments are not convictions of guilt, rather they indicate there is enough evidence to send the felony and some misdemeanor charges to trial.
