Botetourt track teams warm up for conference meet at Saturday’s Knights’ Classic

Lord Botetourt’s Jake Mcnutt placed 5th in the discus throw with a distance of 119-02.
Lord Botetourt’s Brooklyn Shelton took second in the 400 m dash with a time of 1:03.11 at the Knights Track Classic.

The Conference 31 Track meet is scheduled for this Saturday at Rockbridge County High School. Lord Botetourt warmed up for the meet with a couple runs last Saturday.

LB competed in the Knights’ Classic at Cave Spring High School on Saturday, taking 10th place in both the boys and girls meets among 20 teams. The Cave Spring boys and Blacksburg girls were team champions.

Reyna Petry took a third place in the 100 hurdles for LB and also was ninth in the long jump and 10th in the 200. Lexi Haston took two fourth places, in the 100 and 300 hurdles, and Carmen Petry was eighth in the 300 hurdles.

Brooklyn Shelton of LB was second in the 400 and seventh in the 200. Other top 10 finishers for the LB girls included Emma Coman with eighth in the long jump, Erin Kline with eighth in the high jump, Kaelyn Sebestin with 10th in the 400 and Kendall Lythgoe with 10th in the discus.

For the boys, Max Burke was third in both the 110 hurdles and high jump and seventh in the long jump. John Turner took third in the shot put and Jake McNutt was fifth in the discus.

Seventh places went to Adrian Taylor in the 200, Connor Hayes in the 800 and Ethan Clower in the 100. Bryton Dalglish was 10th in the 3,200 meter run.

In the relay events the boys 4×100 team of Taylor, Clark Moeller, Burke and Clower placed fourth and the 4×800 team of Max Klimczak, Austin Sarver, Hayes and Dalglish  was fifth.

LB also competed in a jayvee meet at E.C. Glass Saturday. Ethan Webster won the 400 and Cassie Feltis won the girls 100-meter hurdles.
