Botetourt County Deputy Treasurer Amy Britt (right) received her Certification as a Master Governmental Deputy Treasurer (MGT) this spring. Al Spengler made the presentation. He is with the University of Virginia’s Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service and the School of Continuing and Professional Studies that offers the program. The Certification Program advances the professionalism of local government officials and their staffs. Two other Deputy Treasurers in Treasurer Bill Arney’s office also hold the MGT designation— Donna Boothe and Sandra Camper. The certification of these deputies, along with Arney’s MGT designation, are part of the criteria for Office Accreditation which the Botetourt County Treasurer’s Office has achieved for the past several years.
