Student Phoenix O’Neill tends to plants that will be for sale during the Botetourt Technical Education Center’s FFA Club annual plant sale.

The Botetourt Technical Education Center’s FFA chapter Fincastle is hosting its annual plant sale at the school Thursday and Friday, May 4 and 5 from 9:30 a.m-4 p.m.; and it will continue at the Botetourt Farmers Market at Daleville Town Center on Saturday, May 6 and at the Buchanan Garden Festival Saturday, May 13.

The plants come straight out of the classroom where the students learned essential skills in order to grow and nurture for the plants with the guidance of their teacher, Andy Bell. Customers going to the school should drive around the back through a gate to the end of the lot where the greenhouses are located.

The plant includes a variety of annuals, perennials, vegetables and herbs, all grown and tended to by the students themselves. Specific plants that will be available include marigold, coneflower, zinnia, snapdragon, tomatoes (roma, supersteak.) and peppers (jalapeños, sweet banana, green bell, etc.), squash and various herbs.
