He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Grace Brogan; brothers, Henry and Hollywood Brogan, and sister-in-law, Connie Brogan.

Charles grew up in Botetourt County, attended Grace Bible Church, and was employed as an electric lineman before owning a heating and air conditioning business for over 30 years. He enjoyed old cars, racing, and spending time with family. Known as a jokester, he always enjoyed making people laugh and telling stories. He also loved being a Pap Pap to all his grandkids and many other “adopted” children and friends.

He is survived by his children and spouses, Tammy and Kenny Clark, Anita and Michael Cahoon, Chuckie Brogan and Jill Mays, Regina and Jeff Lograsso; grandchildren, Derik Wood, Melissa Smythers, Mikey Cahoon, Sahara Clark, Matthew Cahoon, Madison Brogan, Meradith Brogan, Malorie Brogan, Kristen L.  (Hunter) Johnson, Kaley L. (Michael) Tillinghast, and Kyle Lograsso; great-grandchildren, Belle, Cooper, Khalil, Jalen, Michael, and Baylee; sister, Peggy (Jim) Wooten; and brothers, Kenneth “KB” (Barbara) Brogan and Roger “Rabbit” Brogan. Special thanks to Marcie Harless of Amedisys Hospice for her care and concern of Pap Pap.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with Pastor Jay Robinette officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes contributions be made to Grace Bible Church, 148 Amsterdam Road, Daleville, VA 24083.
