Thirty students from the Botetourt Technical Education Center (BTEC) officially signed with 13 regional employers during a workforce signing ceremony held May 11 at Central Academy Middle School (CAMS), celebrating their commitment to entering high-demand career fields.

The students represented Craig County High School, James River High School and Lord Botetourt High School and participated in a variety of career and technical education programs, including Auto Body Technology, Auto Service Technology, Building Trades, Computer Systems Technology, Cosmetology, Nurse Aide and Welding.

The ceremony highlighted the partnership between BTEC and area employers while recognizing the students’ achievements and dedication throughout their technical training programs. Family members, instructors, business partners and community leaders attended the event to support the students as they prepare to enter the workforce.

BTEC officials also recognized the support and attendance of Botetourt County Public Schools administrators, Delegate Terry Austin and School Board members Dana McCaleb and Anna Weddle.

The signing event reflects BTEC’s mission of preparing students for successful careers through hands-on training and industry partnerships that connect students directly with employment opportunities across the region.
