The Town of Buchanan is preparing to usher in the holiday season with an expanded Christmas Market and a full slate of seasonal events beginning Saturday, Nov. 29. Festivities will open with Small Business Saturday, an all-day celebration encouraging residents and visitors to support local shops. That morning, the Community Market will return from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., offering handcrafted goods, food items, and holiday gifts.

As evening approaches, the town will shift into full holiday mode as the Festival of Lights illuminates the Town Park from 6 to 11 p.m. Carriage rides will be offered from 6 to 8 p.m., providing families with a nostalgic way to experience the displays. The night’s highlight will take place at 7 p.m., when the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony brings the community together on the lawn of Town Hall.

The Festival of Lights will continue nightly from Nov. 29 through Jan. 3, giving residents and visitors more than a month to enjoy the displays.

Holiday excitement will build again on Saturday, Dec. 13, when the Community Market returns from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The town’s Christmas Parade will follow from 4 to 5:30 p.m., expected to feature decorated floats, marching groups, and appearances from local organizations.

Organizers note that the season offers activities for all ages and plan to share additional details as the events draw closer.
