  • Buchanan Event Cancelations  – Based on reviews of the latest information on COVID-19, the Town of Buchanan is cancelling the following scheduled events: Buchanan Arbor Day Celebration, Buchanan Easter Egg Hunt, Buchanan Civil War History Weekend and the Buchanan Garden Festival. As the town continues monitoring the situation with COVID-19, Town Council will make decisions on future activities in the upcoming weeks based on the newest information and will keep the public informed of changes through The Fincastle Herald, the town’s website – www.townofbuchanan.com– and the town’s Facebook page. For additional information, call the Town Hall at 254-1212.
  • Buchanan Spring Clean Up – Saturday, April 18, 8 a.m. through 4 p.m., a dumpster will be available on the Town Parking Lot at the Town Park on Lowe Street for town residents. Please bring proof of town residency (water or tax bill or driver’s license). Each residence may bring two pickup truck loads or four car loads for free. Loads above that will be $5 per car load and $10 for a pickup truck load. No brush, leaves, tires, construction debris or toxic items including paint, oil, batteries, chemicals or pesticides will be allowed. TVs, electronics and metal may be recycled at the landfill. Appliances, furniture, and other household items may be brought for disposal. You must be able to lift items over head into a tall dumpster. Note that proof of town residency is required to dump. For additional information, call the Town Hall at 254-1212.
