Buchanan Dates to Remember for May 10 edition

LEU Tough Ride

Up to 500 cyclists are peddling their way through Botetourt County today (Wednesday) as part of a 250+ mile three-day journey hosted by Law Enforcement United. The group is traveling from Roanoke to Washington, D.C. to physically challenge participants as they honor fallen law enforcement members while remembering the survivors left behind.

The group will take a 20-minute rest stop for refueling, rest, a short ceremony and group picture on the Buchanan Town Park between 8 and 8:30 a.m.. Those interested in learning more, or, wish to make a donation may reach out to the group on the website,  www.leunited-va.org.

 

Second Sunday Dinner

The Mother’s Day Second Sunday Dinner fundraiser is this Sunday, May 14 at the Historic Wilson Warehouse. The menu includes chicken Marsala, creamed potatoes, mixed vegetables, dinner roll and dessert; dine in or carry out from 12 noon until 1:30 p.m. Place reservations to dine in or orders for carry out by 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 13 by calling 540-580-8944, or text message 540-510-0780. Include your name, phone number or email, and the number of meals you wish to order. You will receive a follow up confirmation.

 

Buchanan Farmers/Community Market Vendors wanted

Be part of Buchanan’s Shop Small, Shop Local efforts as a vendor during the monthly Farmers/Community Market. The town is accepting applications for locally produced food and goods to the community. The market also offers opportunities for educational and charitable activities for the area.
