Buchanan Dates to Remember for Nov. 18 Edition

Christmas Eve Luminaries – Thank you to everyone for helping us reach our goal for collecting plastic gallon containers to be used for this year’s Christmas Eve Luminary display, we are no longer accepting containers.

 

Buchanan Festival of Lights – The Town is starting a new tradition this year, a drive thru light display, and, we need your help. The Town is offering a limited number of spaces for businesses, Churches and Civic Groups to set up a light display on the Buchanan Town Park as part of Festival of Lights. Displays need to be ready to light by Nov. 27 for a test run with the official kick off on Nov. 28. For additional information call the Buchanan Town Hall at 540-254-1212 x 4. Also, if you would like to make a financial donation to help purchase lights, please mail a check to Town of Buchanan Festival of Lights, P.O. Box 205, Buchanan, Virginia 24066. If you have working lights you wish to donate, please drop them off at the Buchanan Town Hall on Main Street Mondays – Fridays 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. For additional information, please call 540-254-1212 x 4.

 

Buchanan Community Christmas Market – The Town is accepting a limited number of vendor spaces for this year’s Small Business Saturday Community Christmas Market on Nov. 28. We are accepting applications for craft vendors, antiques, Civic and Church Groups. Set up for the event is at 8am with the event open to the public 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. For additional information please call 540-254-1212.

 

Buchanan Soup Drive – The Town of Buchanan is collecting cans of soup for the Backpack Buddy Program. Please bring your cans of soup to the Buchanan Town Hall on Main Street. Please check the expiration dates to make sure they have not expired. Thanking you in advance for your continued support.

Small Business Saturday – Save the date of Nov. 28 to show your support for locally owned businesses by shopping and dining with them on this day. Buchanan encourages you to be part of this national trend by reminding you to shop small and shop local.
