Buchanan Elementary School recently celebrated Red Ribbon Week with its annual food drive, and students stepped up in a big way. The school community was overwhelmed by the generosity of its students, who brought in an impressive number of non-perishable items.
Red Ribbon Week, observed nationwide each October, is a campaign that encourages students to make healthy choices and live drug-free lives. At Buchanan Elementary, the week also provides an opportunity to give back to the community.
Thanks to the efforts of the students, the local food pantry will be well stocked, helping families in need throughout the area.
Way to go, Bobcats! Your generosity is making a real difference in the community.
