Hundreds filled the Buchanan Town Park last Saturday to enjoy the sounds of Sol Roots and Lazy Man Dub Band. Visitors traveled from Staunton, Roanoke, Salem, Bedford and Botetourt to enjoy the evening’s activities.
Sol Roots is a soul group based out of Washington, D.C. The band has performed weekly in the D.C. area for close to a decade. The band previously worked with the likes of Prince, Dizzy Gillespie, and the Tedeschi Trucks Band.
Lazy Man Dub Band performs regularly in the Roanoke Valley. Established in 2007, Lazy Man combines the sounds of reggae, rock, and ska roots. Their sound produces a nostalgic vibe to any fans of dub reggae.
This Saturday is “Summer Harvest Saturday” in Buchanan. The Farmers/Community Market will feature local entrepreneurs offering different items each month including locally grown produce and flowers, as well as baked goods, handmade crafts and more.
