Town of Buchanan announced last week Reggae by the River, a popular music event that was not held last year, will return to Town Park later this summer.

According to an announcement released by the town last week, the event will take place Saturday, Aug. 15, from 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Buchanan Town Park along the James River.
Town officials said they have partnered with Sky High Reggae, Lazy Man Dub Band and additional reggae artists to provide an evening of live entertainment. Organizers said the event will also feature food vendors, local vendors and activities designed to create a family-friendly atmosphere along the riverfront.
Ticket pre-sales are currently available through Eventbrite, with discounted pricing offered before ticket prices increase. Additional artist announcements and event details are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
The town is also seeking vendors, sponsors and volunteers to assist with the event. Vendor and food vendor applications are available through the Town of Buchanan website.
Individuals interested in sponsorship opportunities or volunteering may contact the town for additional information.
Reggae by the River has been one of Buchanan’s recurring summer events, and town officials said they are excited to bring it back in 2026 after its absence last year.
