Several James River and Lord Botetourt spring sports have already opened, and a busy schedule continues through the end of the week.
Today, March 13, the James River baseball team will play Salem High at Billy Sample Field in Salem and the River girls are home to Patrick Henry in softball. On Thursday the River boys will host Riverheads in soccer, while the girls head to Staunton to play the Gladiators. The Lord Botetourt girls go to Bassett for tennis.
On Friday the LB baseball team will host Blacksburg and the boys soccer team is home to Salem. Also on Friday the James River baseball team will host Riverheads and the boys soccer team is at Nelson County.
The Botetourt Sports Complex will be the site of the annual Salem Invitational on Saturday. There will be 11 varsity teams competing from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. and Lord Botetourt is included. The Cavaliers will take on Blacksburg at 9 a.m. and Brookville at 11 a.m.
