The “Carole Edwards and Friends” piano ensemble will present its 46th anniversary concerts on Friday, March 29 at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 30 at 2 p.m., and Sunday, March 31 at 4 p.m., at The Glebe in Daleville.
A feature of The Glebe’s “Music in the Mountains” series, this popular piano ensemble began in New York in 1974 where Edwards performed professionally with her ensemble for 20 years. Following a move to Virginia, Edwards’ concerts continued for 12 years at Smith Mountain Lake and are now in their 14th year at The Glebe.
The ensemble includes Edwards, Jackie Werb, and Shirley Fike, who reside at The Glebe, as well as Deanne Vance and Erica Sipes, who reside in Roanoke. During the performances on two grand pianos by four hands, six hands and eight hands, Edwards shares details of each piece. This year’s eclectic program will feature selections by Vivaldi, Moszkowski, Schubert, Arensky, Saint Saens, Debussy and other composers. A reception follows each concert.
Admission is free, but space is limited. Call 627-6557 to reserve a seat. Donations for this year’s concerts support St. Francis Service Dogs.
