The Lord Botetourt golfers continue to dominate the Blue Ridge District with another winning score last week. LB shot a nine-hole 151 to win the mini-tour round at Blue Hills.
The match was only nine holes as the course was being aerated. Also, rain fell during most of the time the nine holes were played.
Botetourt’s 151 was eight strokes better than William Byrd’s 159. Franklin County was third at 162, followed by Staunton River at 183, William Fleming at 184 and Northside at 187.
Byrd’s Bryce Corkery was the medalist with a 34. Samir Davidov led LB with a 36, followed by Ashton Harper at 37, Kaitlyn Mosdell at 38 and Kyle Lograsso at 40.
The Cavaliers also played a non-district match against Salem at the Botetourt Golf & Swim Club on Thursday of last week. Salem won the nine-hole match, 171-172, but LB coach Todd Smith did not play all of his best players. Mosdell had a 39 to lead the Cavaliers.
The golfers were scheduled to play a district match at Ole Monterey on Tuesday of this week, and on Thursday Botetourt has a non-district match at the Blacksburg Country Club against Blacksburg High School.
