The Lord Botetourt boys and girls both finished fifth in the Region 3D swim meet at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center.
Max Mizuba had a big day for the Cavaliers taking first place in both the 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke, the latter with a record breaking time. Lucas Dehr was third in the 100 and 200 free.
For the girls, Julia Misico was third in the 100 fly and 200 free while Olivia Nicely took third in the 50 and 100 free. The girls 400 free relay was second.
James River is scheduled to swim in the Region 2C meet today at the Hargrave Military Academy pool.
“We have not had a meet since the 22nd of January, but we are ready for regions,” said River coach Kitt Williams. “I have high hopes for the team.”
