The Lord Botetourt boys shut out Staunton River in soccer last Friday, taking a 6-0 win in Daleville.

“I enjoyed this game particularly because we had six different goal scorers,” said coach Tim Wright, as Botetourt got goals from Matt Smith, Zach Durham, Abe Barkett, Kyle Wood, Jacob Booth, and Collin Ewers.

“After our first match against them the guys all believed we were inconsistent in our final third creativity,” said Wright, referring to a 1-0 win in Moneta. “Last Friday was a different story and the diversity in goal scorers reflects the creativity of the guys in our second game.”

With the win Botetourt remains in second place in the Blue Ridge District with a 4-2 district mark and an 8-2-2 overall record. The Cavs were scheduled to host Christiansburg in a non-district game on Tuesday, followed by a home game against William Byrd tonight and a home game with Northside on Friday.
