The Lord Botetourt boys are getting ready for the Conference 31 basketball tournament, which will be held February 13, 15 and 17.

The first round will be held at the home sites before the semifinals and finals move to Staunton River High School.

LB will likely be the fourth or fifth seed in the tournament, depending on what happens this week. The Cavaliers were at William Byrd on Tuesday, and Friday they wrap up the regular season with a home game against Staunton River.

The Cavs come into the week at 6-14 after splitting two games last week. Botetourt opened the week with a 46-43 win over Jefferson Forest to sweep the home-and-home against the JF Cavaliers.

The game was tied at 43-all when Noah Taylor made a three-pointer for LB with 15 seconds on the clock. Jefferson Forest advanced the ball to half court and called a timeout with 7.5 seconds remaining. LB ran a couple seconds off the clock by fouling, as the Cavs were not in the bonus at that point. Jefferson Forest then missed a three at the buzzer and LB got out of Forest with a big win.

Taylor finished with 15 points, including four-of-seven from three-point range. Grayson Bond had eight points and six rebounds for Botetourt.

On Friday Lord Botetourt hosted William Fleming and lost, 61-43, to the 16-4 Colonels.  Taylor had 13 points and six rebounds and Kris Call also had 13 points for LB.
