The Lord Botetourt girls played in the Salem Invitational softball event at the Botetourt Sports Complex on Saturday and dropped a 12-11 decision to Halifax County.
Botetourt led for much of the game but the Comets rallied for the win in the high-scoring game. LB got home runs from Bryanna Orange and Autumn Russell in the loss.
“Our defense unfortunately gave way to opportunities for the other team to take advantage of,” said LB coach Megan DeHart. “We look to bounce back as we have three games this week, all at home.”
The Cavaliers will host Cave Spring on Tuesday, Abingdon on Wednesday in the second half of a doubleheader with the jayvees and Blacksburg on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
