Jakari Nicely and Shane Oiler drove in two runs apiece in the bottom of the sixth inning as the Lord Botetourt baseball team came from behind to beat William Byrd Friday. The Cavaliers won 5-3 in Daleville.

Botetourt trailed 3-1 going into the bottom of the sixth, but the Cavs had the bases loaded with two out when Nicely came to the plate. He doubled down the left-field line to score two and tie the game. Oiler then followed with a single to right center as two more scored and Garrett Green pitched a scoreless top of the seventh for the win.

Green pitched the last two innings to pick up the win in relief of Nolan Medley, who went five and allowed just one earned run. Oiler and Green were both two-for-three at the plate for the Cavs.

On Monday the Cavaliers had a non-district game in Dublin and dropped a 15-8 decision to Pulaski County. Owen Prince was four-for-five with a triple for LB and Oiler and Green had two hits each. Connor Fuhrman also had a triple.

Jack Vargo pitched the first three and two thirds innings and took the loss with Jackson Smith finishing up.

Last Wednesday, LB had a non-district game against North Cross and won a slugfest in Daleville, 20-10. Owen Prince was four-for-four with two grand slam home runs and nine runs-batted-in for the day. Green and Noah Leonard also went yard and Fuhrman was two-for-two with three runs scored. Vargo and Colin Sell split time on the mound for the win.

The Cavaliers took a 10-4 overall record to Northside on Tuesday, and they were 3-3 in the Blue Ridge District. On Friday, William Fleming is here for a 5:30 p.m. game.
