Four Lord Botetourt High School athletes have been named to Virginia High School League Class 3 All-State teams, including two first teamers. Botetourt had all-state selections in softball, girls soccer and boys soccer.

Rhyann Jones, a graduated senior, heads the list in softball as one of three pitchers named to the All-State team. Rhyann was also named first team All-Region 3D after leading the Cavaliers to the state championship game.

Also named to the all-region team were catcher Gianna Sloan-Lebron, second baseman Jackson Kemper and outfielder Riley Shupe. First year LB coach Megan Dehart was named the Region 3D Coach of the Year.

Botetourt had six girls on the All-Blue Ridge District team, including district Pitcher of the Year Jones. Sloan-Lebron and Kemper also made the first team, while Shupe, shortstop Mikayla Reed and Flex player Autumn Russell made the second team All-BRD.

Ava Brumfield

LB had two girls named all-state in soccer. Senior defender Ava Brumfield was a first team selection and sophomore forward Emma Rice was a second team all-state choice.

Brumfield and Rice were also first team All-Region 3D and second team selections included Ally Spangler at forward, Allison Kirby at midfield, Leah Meacham on defense and Darden Goode was chosen as an “at large” selection.

The Blue Ridge District champion Cavaliers had seven first team selections on the all-district team as well as district Coach of the Year Giuseppe D’Arpa. First teamers included Brumfield, Rice, Spangler, Meacham, Goode, midfielder Mikel Johnson and keeper Lyndsay Prillaman. Autumn Estrada made the second team All-BRD at midfield.
