Botetourt County Chamber kicks off 2026
The Botetourt County Chamber of Commerce opened the new year with its first newsletter, highlighting upcoming events, opportunities, and community updates while expressing appreciation for its members and supporters as the Chamber looks ahead to the year to come.
The Chamber announced the first event in a new Leader’s Lounge series scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, Jan. 8, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Crooked Shoreline. Hosted by the Chamber’s Emerging Leaders Committee, the gathering is intended for young businesses and young professionals seeking opportunities to connect and grow. Admission is $15 for Chamber members and $25 for non-members. The January event will serve as the kickoff for a year-long series, with additional registration details to be announced.
Information was also shared regarding the Amex Shop Small Grants Program, a partnership between American Express and Main Street America designed to support small businesses across the country. The program will provide an initial $5 million to fund 250 grants of $20,000 each to eligible small business owners. Additional funding will be generated through American Express Card Member purchases at qualifying U.S. small businesses on Nov. 29, 2025. Applications for the grants are open from Nov. 29, 2025, through Jan. 16, 2026.
Member news included highlights from the Botetourt Music Academy, which is offering lessons and programs for individuals of all ages, with additional information available through email. The Daleville/Fincastle Lions Club announced an upcoming bingo event scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 17, at Bellacino’s in Daleville, with proceeds supporting the club’s community work. Details regarding times and participation are available through event materials.
The newsletter also recognized the work of Good Samaritan Hospice, noting its role in providing bereavement programs and grief relief workshops for individuals and families experiencing loss. Since 1992, the organization has served as the only non-profit, community-based hospice serving Southwest Virginia.
In addition, the Chamber encouraged member participation in its committees, including the Ambassador Committee and the Ag Committee, inviting interested individuals to reach out to designated contacts for more information or to become involved.
