The Botetourt Chamber of Commerce recently released its latest newsletter, highlighting seasonal events, regional developments, and resources for local businesses. In a message of gratitude, the Chamber expressed appreciation for its members, partners, and the broader Botetourt community, emphasizing the role of engagement and support in fostering a thriving local economy. The Chamber encouraged residents to visit the Tinsel Trail in Fincastle, inviting families to enjoy festive displays and participate in holiday activities such as a Scavenger Hunt, with hot chocolate provided by First Bank volunteers.
The newsletter also announced a significant addition to regional air travel. Starting June 5, 2026, American Airlines will offer daily nonstop flights from Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport to Dallas-Fort Worth. The new route is expected to enhance connections to destinations across the Southwest, Mexico, and beyond, including Tokyo, Seoul, and Hawaii, providing expanded opportunities for both business and leisure travel.
Small businesses in the region were featured as well, with the newsletter highlighting the American Express Shop Small Grants Program. The program, launched in partnership with Main Street America, will provide $5 million in grants to fund 250 awards of $20,000 each to eligible small business owners nationwide. Additional funding will be generated when American Express cardholders made qualifying purchases on Small Business Saturday, November 29, 2025. Applications for the grants will be accepted through January 16, 2026.
Community events and member news were included, such as a Bingo event hosted by the Daleville/Fincastle Lions Club on January 17 at Bellacino’s in Daleville and ongoing grief support programs offered by Good Samaritan Hospice. The hospice has served Southwest Virginia since 1992, providing compassionate care and community-based support for families experiencing loss.
The Chamber also invited participation in its ongoing committee meetings, including the Ambassador and Ag Committees, encouraging members and residents to engage with local initiatives and contribute to the growth of the county’s business and community programs.
