The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce will host Blacksburg Deputy Town Manager, Chris Lawrence for the Eggs & Issues on Jan. 5 from 7:30-9:00 a.m.

The Town of Blacksburg has undergone an assessment of the business climate and Mr. Lawrence will discuss the results of the study and what the Town of Blacksburg will implement to address some of the issues.

There is limited seating at the Hilton Garden Inn, 900 Plantation Road, for this program; please register on-line or call the Chamber. The cost to attend is $20 for members and $40 for non-members. The sponsor of the January Eggs & Issues is Colley Architects, P.C. and winner of the 2016 Green Business Award through the Chamber.

The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce and the local business community recognize the impact of education on economic development. In the recruitment of business and industry to our community, the business prospects want to locate their businesses in communities that have a viable workforce.

Educational opportunities often reflect that viability. These prospects also wish to relocate in communities where their children can attend excellent schools which create greater career and educational opportunities.

About the retention of business and industry, businesses want to stay in communities that have an educated, and trained workforce and their children have good schools.

The Eggs and Issues program is held on the first Thursday of each month at the Hilton Garden Inn at 900 Plantation Road in Blacksburg. Reservations are required.

The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, serves Blacksburg, Christiansburg and all of Montgomery County, supports approximately 700 local businesses through educational, marketing, and networking opportunities.

For more information on the Chamber of Commerce, visit the chamber website at www.montgomerycc.org, Facebook page, or call The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce at 382-3020.
