Appalachian Vespers at Eagle Rock Sunday

St. Mark’s Episcopal Church will hold its monthly Appalachian Vespers informal service at Emmanuel Chapel in Eagle Rock at 4 p.m. on April 28. The musicians this month are “Like the Moon” ( Refreshments follow at the Eagle Rock Fire House. Emmanuel Chapel is located at 251 High Street in Eagle Rock.

Special service at Mill Creek  

Mill Creek Baptist Church invites the community to a special program on Sunday, April 28 at 8:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m., experience “Our Savior’s Love.” The adult and children’s handbell choirs will provide special music that day.

BBQ lunch at Buchanan Baptist

Buchanan Baptist Church will have a take-out BBQ lunch fundraiser on Saturday, April 27 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The lunch will consist of a BBQ sandwich, slaw, baked beans, and a drink. Dessert of baked goods will be for sale. Price will be by donation for the Buchanan Baptist Building Fund. The church is located at 19739 Main Street.

Gospel group coming to Troutville Brethren

Wayne & Friends, a bluegrass gospel group, will be at the Troutville Church of the Brethren on Sunday, April 28 during morning worship 11 a.m. Mark your calendars and bring a friend.

Ladies Night at First Baptist

The ladies at First Baptist Church of Fincastle at 6529 Blue Ridge Turnpike, Fincastle, where Rev. Montie E. Brown Sr. is pastor, invites their Sisters in Christ to join them for an evening of worship and fellowship on Saturday, April 27, at 4 p.m., for their annual “Ladies Night Out.” The guest speaker will be Katie Stutler, who is the Women’s Ministry Coordinator at Fincastle Baptist Church. Refreshments will be served and everyone is welcome.

Mill Creek sponsoring Fishing Rodeo May 4

The Greater Outdoors Ministry at Mill Creek Baptist Church will have its annual Fishing Rodeo on Saturday, May 4 from 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m. at Camp Bethel. Lunch will be served and there will be door prizes. It is open to everyone.

Solomon’s Mission fundraiser May 4

Solomon’s Mission will hold its first fundraiser of the year on Saturday, May 4 from 8-11 a.m. Solomon’s will be offering pancakes, scrambled eggs, biscuits, sausage gravy, sausage, bacon, juice, water and coffee. Cost is $8 per plate; children 6 to 12, $5.  Children 5 and under eat for free. Eat in or take out.

Crossroads Baptist hosting Richard Kiser

Richard Kiser will be in concert at Crossroads Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Sunday, May 5. Kiser is a world-class guitarist and International Country Gospel Music Association’s Instrumentalist of the Decade. Everyone is invited. The church is located at 1128 Wheatland Road, Buchanan. BAMA Celebration coming in June

The Buchanan Area Ministerial Association (BAMA) says to “save the date” June 9-13, 6-8 p.m., for Celebration by the River at the Buchanan Flea Market site.

Pico Cemetery needs funds

Pico-Styne-Nofsinger Cemetery in Buchanan is in need of funds. Donations are needed to have the cemetery mowed and maintenance done.
