Pleasant Hill Baptist Mother’s Day Banquet

It is time again for the annual Pleasant Hill Baptist Mother’s Day Banquet on Saturday, April 30 at noon. This year’s theme is Apron Pockets and Serving Hearts. Boxed lunch tickets are $12 and can be purchased in the Welcome Center April 3-24. Lunch will be catered by Seasons & Occasions. Wear your favorite apron and join in for a fun afternoon. This event is presented by the PHBC Women’s Ministry.

Community meal at Galatia Presbyterian

Galatia Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 78 Gala Loop Road, Eagle Rock, will have a potluck community meal on Monday, May 2 at noon. Tea (sweet and unsweet), lemonade, water and coffee will be furnished by the church.  Bring a dish to share with everyone for good fellowship and good food.

Mother’s Day Tea benefit

How would you like to enjoy a traditional English “High Tea” and, at the same time, help feed hungry people? The T.A.M.E. (That All May Eat) Ministry at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Daleville is sponsoring a gourmet Mother’s Day Tea on Saturday, May 7.  Proceeds from sales support projects to help the food-insecure in the community and the world. You may either dine-in at the church, or place the order for take-out if preferred.

Each High Tea box will contain two savory sandwiches, a white chocolate cranberry scone with Devonshire cream, a chicken salad croissant, two desserts, and an assortment of teabags. To place an order, go on the church website at www.stmarksmethodist.com or call the church office at 540-992-3030. Deadline for ordering is Tuesday, May 3.

You will pay for your tea boxes at the time of pick up. The cost is as follows: 1 box, $20; 2 boxes, $36; 3 boxes, $48; or 4 boxes for $60. If you get more than four boxes, the price will be $15 each. If you were to go out for a High Tea, you would pay $20-$50 or more, so by ordering from the church, you get a bargain while helping to feed the hungry.

St. Mark’s United Methodist Church is located at 19 Cedar Ridge Dr. in Daleville (across US 220 from Kroger). If you have a pick-up order, come between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Dine-in service is available from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. If you have any questions, call the church at 992-3030.
