Cloverdale Church of the Brethren Thrift Shop is celebrating month of September with an end-of-season sale. Everything in the shop is one-half off except Halloween items. The shop is open every Saturday, 9 to 12.
PleasantDale to celebrate 107th anniversary
PleasantDale Church of the Brethren will celebrate the church’s 107th anniversary on Sunday, September 10.
Austin Myers and Avery Saunders will being playing music guests arrive, so come early for this. Austin and Avery will also play a couple of hymns during the worship service from 11-11:45 a.m.
Professional bluegrass players Heather and Tony Mabe will be playing from 11:45 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. A potluck dinner will immediately follow.
All are invited.
Pleasant Hill Baptist upcoming activities

Pleasant Hill Baptist will have revival services on Sunday, September 17 through Wednesday, September 20. Dr. Tom Stocks will be leading the revival each night at 7 p.m. There will be special music and fellowship nightly.
Jennings Creek Homecoming September 10
Jennings Creek Gospel Church will celebrate Homecoming on Sunday, September 10. Sunday School begins at 10 a.m. and worship at 11 a.m.
A potluck-style lunch. Bring a side dish or dessert (or both) to share. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided.
Everyone is welcome.

Salad lunch at Galatia September 11
Galatia EPC, 78 Gala Loop Road, Eagle Rock, will have a potluck salad lunch at noon on Monday, September 11.
Galatia members will fix a tossed salad with all the fixings and dressings, plus tea (sweet and unsweetened), lemonade, water and coffee. Bring a salad or dessert and join in for food and fellowship.
Trips with the Joyful Journey Travelers
The Joyful Journey Travelers of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Daleville invite interested persons to join them for two day trips.
- The Billy Graham Museum and Library, September 19. Cost is $100 per person. The bus leaves from St. Mark’s at 7 a.m., then make a pick-up for people in Rocky Mount. Travelers will spend the day at the museum and library; lunch on your own in the cafe there. The bus will stop for dinner, on your own, on the way home. Suggested tip for the driver is $3 per person.
The bus will return to St. Mark’s by 8 pm. The registration form can be found on the church website, stmarksmethodist.com, or by calling Julia Greer at 540-330-7933. The deadline for registering and payment in full is September 1.
- Wohlfhart Haus Christmas Show and Meal, Wytheville, November 15. Cost is $95.50 per person and includes the bus, show, and meal. A $3 tip for the driver is recommended. The bus will leave from St. Mark’s at 10 a.m. and return by 6:30 pm. to St. Mark’s. The bus will stop at the Lowe’s in Salem to pick up at 10:20 a.m. and drop off at 6 p.m. The registration form can be found on the church website at stmarksmethodist.com or by calling Julia Greer at 540-330-7933. The deadline is as soon as possible. The theatre says that seating for groups usually begins to fill up by the end of August. The bus will be chartered from Sunshine Tours.
The Joyful Journey Travelers is an outreach ministry of St. Mark’s UMC to provide safe and fun trips for senior citizens; however, any age is welcome.
