Eagle Rock Clothes Closet August hours
The Clothes Closet at Eagle Rock United Methodist Church will be open Wednesday, August 9, 5-6:30 p.m.; and Saturday, August 12, 9 a.m.-noon. Buchanan Food Pantry open Saturday
The Buchanan Presbyterian Church Food Pantry will be open on Saturday, August 12 from 9-11 a.m. Volunteers from Buchanan Baptist Church will distribute food curbside to anyone in need in Botetourt County. The church is located at 19559 Main Street, Buchanan.
Mt. Olivet Summer Bazaar August 12
The Summer Bazaar at Mount Olivet United Methodist Church will be held on Saturday, August 12, 8 a.m.-1 p.m., serving breakfast and lunch. Items made by the Mount Olivet Quilters will be for sale, along with a bake sale, canned jams and jellies and a yard sale. Spaces for yard sales are $5. The church is located at 26310 Lee Highway, Buchanan.
Springwood Food Pantry open August 19
The Springwood Baptist Food Pantry will be open on Saturday, August 19 from 9-10:30 a.m. The pantry is located at 88 Copps Hill Road, Buchanan. This pantry is a drive-through pantry, so clients may remain in their cars and volunteers will load the food for them.
The pantry is open each month on the third Saturday from 9-10:30 a.m. It is a partner with Feeding America Southwest Virginia and anyone in need of food is invited.
Pleasant Hill Baptist upcoming activities

GriefShare beginning at Colonial Baptist
Colonial Baptist Church in Blue Ridge is offering GriefShare, a help and encouragement ministry to those who have experienced the death of a spouse, child, family member or friend. Each 90-minute session includes a video seminar, group discussion, and personal workbook. Villa Heights to celebrate 100th anniversary

Joyful Journey schedules two trips
The Joyful Journey Travelers of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Daleville invite interested persons to join them for two daytrips.
- The Billy Graham Museum and Library, September 19. Cost is $100 per person. The bus leaves from St. Mark’s at 7 a.m., then make a pick-up for people in Rocky Mount. Travelers will spend the day at the museum and library; lunch on your own in the cafe there. The bus will stop for dinner, on your own, on the way home. Suggested tip for the driver is $3 per person.
The bus will return to St. Mark’s by 8 pm. The registration form can be found on the church website, stmarksmethodist.com, or by calling Julia Greer at 540-330-7933. The deadline for registering and payment in full is September 1.
- Wohlfhart Haus Christmas Show and Meal, Wytheville, November 15. Cost is $95.50 per person and includes the bus, show, and meal. A $3 tip for the driver is recommended. The bus will leave from St. Mark’s at 10 a.m. and return by 6:30 pm. to St. Mark’s. The bus will stop at the Lowe’s in Salem to pick up at 10:20 a.m. and drop off at 6 p.m. The registration form can be found on the church website at stmarksmethodist.com or by calling Julia Greer at 540-330-7933. The deadline is as soon as possible. The theatre says that seating for groups usually begins to fill up by the end of August. The bus will be chartered from Sunshine Tours.
The Joyful Journey Travelers is an outreach ministry of St. Mark’s UMC to provide safe and fun trips for senior citizens; however, any age is welcome.
