Eagle Rock Clothes Closet February hours

The Clothes Closet at Eagle Rock United Methodist Church will be open Saturday, Feb. 4 from 9 a.m. to noon; Wednesday, Feb. 8, 5-6:30 p.m.; and Saturday, Feb. 11, 9 a.m.-noon. Free clothing will be available to men, women and children. The Clothes Closet is a ministry of the Eagle Rock United Methodist Charge. For more information, call Brenda Spangler, 884-2503.

Upcoming events at St. Mark’s UMC

Backpack Buddies:  As part of the Backpack Buddies mission, St. Mark’s United Methodist Church will again be teaming with four local churches to provide weekend meals for 22 students at Greenfield Elementary School.  Over 12 million children in the United States live in food insecure households, many relying on school lunch as their sole stable source of nutrition, which they won’t be receiving on the weekend.

This semester, the church will be packing meals during the weeks of February 6, 13, and 20.  Take one or more tabs from the board in the narthex and return the items by Sunday, February 5.

Souper Bowl Sunday: The TAME Ministry will sponsor a “Souper Bowl” Soup Luncheon on Sunday, February 12 immediately following the 11 a.m. service in the Family Life Center. Donations for lunch will benefit the TAME Ministry’s “Rise Against Hunger” Meal Packing in September. Chicken salad, pimento cheese and PBJs and chips and crackers will be served as well.

Upcoming trips with Joyful Journey Club

The Joyful Journey Travel Club of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Daleville, invites you to join them on their trips for 2023. This is an outreach ministry geared for older adults but any age is welcome. Grandparents sometimes bring their grandchildren along and parents sometimes bring their children along. For more information and reservations contact Julia Greer, Joyful Journey Travel, St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 19 Cedar Ridge Dr., Daleville, Va. 24083, 540-330-7933.
