Buchanan Food Pantry open this Saturday
The Buchanan Presbyterian Church Food Pantry will be open Saturday, Jan. 24, from 9 a.m. till 11 a.m. Volunteers from St. Mark’s United Methodist Church will be distributing milk, meat, eggs (if the chickens are laying) and non-perishable foods. Anyone who needs food is welcome to come to the church at 19559 Main Street, Buchanan.
If you don’t need food, and are in a position to contribute to the Food Pantry, checks can be mailed to the church at P.O. Box 517, Buchanan, 24066, or you can drop off food either at the church in those hours, or drop them at the Southern Girls Mercantile on Main Street.
Fincastle UMC Clothes Closet January dates
Fincastle United Methodist’s Clothes Closet will be open on Saturday, Jan. 24, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Tuesday, Jan. 27, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., in the Family Life Center, 137 S. Church Street, Fincastle.
Donations of gently worn, clean clothing and shoes are appreciated. Call the church office at 540-473-3001 to arrange to bring donations during office hours, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday.
Cloverdale Thrift Store January sale
The Cloverdale Church of the Brethren Thrift Store is bringing in the New Year with lots of good deals – sweaters are only 50 cents and stuffed animals, 25 cents; for $5, shoppers can fill a bag with clothes and shoes (excludes Christmas and jewelry). All Christmas items are half off.
