Fincastle Presbyterian holding special service July 23
On Wednesday, July 23 and Wednesday, August 27, Fincastle Presbyterian Church will host the regular fourth Wednesday Wholeness and Healing service. This is a short prayer service of quiet, music, and prayer followed by a time of meal and fellowship with a light supper; meet in the fellowship hall at 5 p.m.
Cloverdale Thrift Store sale
Cloverdale Church of the Brethren’s Thrift Store is having a shoe sale – 25 cents a pair now. Starting July 26 and every last Saturday of the month will have a special sale – fill a plastic grocery bag for $5. Gently used donations are welcome. The store is open Saturdays, 9 to 12.
Homecoming at Lapsleys Run Baptist
Lapsleys Run Baptist Church will celebrate the annual Homecoming Day on Sunday, July 13. The morning service will begin at 11 a.m. The speaker for the morning service will be Deacon Edgar Freeman.
Lunch will be served following the service.
The afternoon service will begin at 2 p.m. Guests will be the Rev. Marcus Huffman and the choir and congregation of the Blue Ridge Baptist Church, Blue Ridge.
The members welcome everyone to join them and look forward to seeing everyone for any of the church’s services, especially Homecoming Day.
Regular services are held on the second and fourth Sundays of each month at 11 a.m. Lapsleys Run Baptist Church is located at 608 Zion Hill Road, Fincastle.
Eagle Rock Community Closet open Aug. 2
The Eagle Rock Community Clothes Closet located at Eagle Rock United Methodist Church, 14565 Church St, Eagle Rock will be open Saturdays August 2 and 9 from 9:00 to 12:00 Noon and Wednesday August 6 from 5:00 to 6:30 pm. We offer ladies, men’s and children’s clothing, as well as toys and shoes at no charge. Bags are provided and please honor the bag limit posted.

Joyful Journey Travels announces upcoming trips
Joyful Journey Travels is an outreach ministry of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Daleville. This ministry specializes in offering overnight trips for senior citizens that are safe, affordable, and fun. However, any age is welcome; grandparents often bring their grandchildren. - Ark Encounter & Creation Museum, August 4-7; $775 per person double occupancy, $1,034 per person single occupancy. There is much more to experience. End the day with a scenic riverboat dinner cruise down the Ohio River.
