Solomon’s Mission undergoing remake, not accepting donations
Solomon’s Mission is not accepting donations until August 19 in order to make the area safer with incoming donations and to enlarge the Thrift Store. The store remains open during the remake; isf the store needs to close at any point during the remake, updates will be posted on Solomon’s Facebook page.
From July 30 to August 8, all household items and furniture will be 50% off.
Homecoming at Mt. Joy Church of the Brethren
All are invited to Mt. Joy Church of the Brethren Homecoming this Sunday, Aug. 2, for great fellowship, memories, and food. Sunday School is at 10 a.m., the worship service at 11 a.m., and the meal at noon. There will be special music.
Buchanan Baptist Homecoming Celebration
Everyone is invited to Homecoming on August 9 at Buchanan Baptist Church. The church is celebrating its 190th year. Morning worship begins at 11 a.m. and will feature a special message by Caleb Bittler.
A potluck lunch will be served immediately following the worship service. A time of special music and fellowship will follow lunch. There will also be plenty of fun for children with activities on the lawn, plus treats from the Smooshed Ice Cream Truck and the Delcio Icee Truck. Everyone is welcome
Donations requested for Eagle Rock Baptist Cemetery
Any donations made to help pay for the mowing and upkeep of the Eagle Rock Baptist Church Cemetery would be greatly appreciated. Donations can be made out to the Eagle Rock Baptist Church and mailed to P.O. Box 219, Eagle Rock, 24085.
Eagle Rock Clothes Closet dates
The Eagle Rock Community Clothes Closet at Eagle Rock United Methodist Church is opening again in August on Saturdays, August 1 and 15, from 9 a.m. to noon, and Wednesday, August 5, from 5-6:30 p.m. It offers men’s, women’s and children’s clothing and shoes along with toys and household items. Bags will be provided and patrons are asked to honor the bag limit posted.
To celebrate 20 years of continuous service to the community and surrounding area, organizers will have a free gift for each customer until they are gone.
