Special service June 26 at Fincastle Presbyterian
Fincastle Presbyterian Church will be holding a Service of Prayer for Wholeness and Healing at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26. This a special service of prayer, music, silence and scripture, an opportunity to gather in a Christian community and draw closer to God by offering prayers for individuals, the local community, the country and world. A light supper will be provided in the fellowship hall after the service. All are invited. The address is 108 E. Back Street.
‘Celebrating Historic Fincastle Churches’ June 30
Fincastle United Methodist Church will host the third in the HFI series of “Celebrating Historic Fincastle Churches” on Sunday, June 30 at 3 p.m. in the church sanctuary. After a history of the church, the choir and brass ensemble will share patriotic music. Refreshments will be served under the historic honey ash tree.

With summer around the corner, the Thrift Store has a large selection of shorts and capris for $1 and summer shoes for everyone, $1.The Thrift Store is open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon. Donations are welcome.

St. Mark’s UMC VBS
St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Daleville invites children to get cooking at “Shake It Up Café: Where Kid’s Carry Out God’s Recipe” Vacation Bible School. The fun begins at St. Mark’s UMC, 19 Cedar Ridge Drive, on Monday, June 24, through Friday, June 28, from 9 a.m. to noon. Children, age 3 (who are toilet trained) through rising sixth graders, are invited to attend for Bible fun, crafts, hands-on mission projects, experiments in food science and great music. Lapsleys Run Baptist Homecoming July 14
Lapsleys Run Baptist Church will celebrate the annual Homecoming Day on Sunday, July 14. The morning service will begin at 11 a.m. The speaker for the morning service will be Brother Edgar Freeman. Lunch will be served following the morning service.
The afternoon service will begin at 2 p.m. Guests will be the Rev. Mark Tucker and the choir and congregation of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church of Goode, Va.
During the afternoon service, the dining hall will be dedicated in honor of Angela Freeman Hilton for her years of dedicated service.
All are welcome. Members look forward to seeing everyone for any of the services, especially on Homecoming Day.
