Brenda Faye Monaghan, 73, of Buchanan, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Brady and Elsie Blevins; sisters, Margaret Ann, Patsy Turner, Mary Greer and Nancy Johnson.
Brenda loved her family, especially her grandkids, and spending time with them. She enjoyed traveling to the Outer Banks and going to visit her family back home in Lebanon.
She is survived by her husband of almost 52 years, Mike Monaghan; children and spouses, Jody and Kimberly Monaghan, Kim Crawford, and Patrick and Candace W. Monaghan; grandchildren, Hunter and Jared Monaghan, Caleb and Jacob Crawford, Ella and Brennen Monaghan; step-grandchildren, James and Hanna Carter; sister, Betty Smith; brothers, Delmar, Grady, and Johnny Blevins; in-laws, Paul and Martha Monaghan, James and Perette Monaghan, and Patsy Ferris; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering was held at Gracely Hill, 212 Wheatland Rd., Buchanan on Tuesday, June 18, beginning at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation in Brenda’s memory.
