Buchanan Food Pantry open Saturday
The Buchanan Presbyterian Church Food Pantry will be open on Saturday, June 24 from 9-11 a.m. Food will be given out at curbside to those in need in Botetourt County by volunteers from the church. The church is located at 19559 Main Street.
VBS Camp at Limestone Park starts Monday
Limestone Park Ministries will be holding its annual VBS Camp June 26-30 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. daily. Camp is open to children kindergarten through fifth grade. Campers may pre-register by emailing limestoneparkministries@gmail.com or on-site. Lunch is provided daily. Children should bring comfortable shoes, towel, bathing suit, water bottle and sunscreen. Activities include Bible story, swimming and recreational activities. Check the Facebook page for menu updates. There is no fee to participate but donations are greatly appreciated. Middle and high school students may participate in counselor roles.
Pleasant Hill Movie Night, Red Sox game
Pleasant Hill Baptist will host Movie Night on June 25 at 6 p.m. The movie will be “Big George Foreman.” Refreshments will be provided. Bring a comfy chair.
Pleasant Hill Baptist will be attending Faith & Family Night at the Salem Red Sox on July 14 at 7 p.m. If you are interested in attending, call the church line at (540) 992-5556.Transportation will be provided but bus seating is limited so sign up early.
Movie Night at PleasantDale
PleasantDale Church of the Brethren Movie Night is June 24. Beginning at 4 p.m., there will be hot dogs, chips, drinks, ice cream and other snacks in the fellowship hall downstairs. The movie “Jesus Revolution” will begin at 5 p.m. (or shortly after). This is a free event open to the public; donations greatly appreciated.
Lapsleys Run Homecoming July 9
Lapsleys Run Baptist Church will celebrate the annual Homecoming Day on Sunday, July 9. The morning service will begin at 11 a.m. with the message from the pastor, the Rev. David W. Halsey, Sr. Lunch will be served following the morning service.
The afternoon service will begin at 2 p.m. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Sean Burch of the Spirit of Unity Baptist Church, with music by The Spirit of Unity Choir.
This year, David and Sandra Thompson will be honored for their dedicated service to Lapsleys Run Baptist Church.
Everyone is welcome to every one of the church’s services, especially for Homecoming Day. Regular services are held on the second and fourth Sundays of each month at 11 a.m. Lapsleys Run Baptist Church is located at 608 Zion Hill Road, Fincastle.
