National Day of Prayer at Fincastle Presbyterian
Thursday, May 4 is the National Day of Prayer. Anyone who would like a few moments of quiet contemplation or prayer is invited to Fincastle Presbyterian Church on Back Street in Fincastle during the lunch hour, roughly from noon to one o’clock. The church’s quiet, historic sanctuary will be open to welcome all seeking a peaceful space with soft, calming music playing.
National Day of Prayer observance in Troutville
The public is encouraged to attend the gathering at Troutville Park for the National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 4. The event begins at noon.

PleasantDale Church yard sale Saturday
PleasantDale Church is having a yard sale this coming Saturday, May 6, 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. Refreshments will be available as well.
If anyone has vintage, antique or exotic cars, they are welcome bring their cars to exhibit for the morning.
Yard sale at Trinity UMC on May 6
United Women in Faith will be having a yard sale on May 6 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 19637 Main Street, Buchanan, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Proceeds will support the group’s mission projects for the coming year. Hot dogs and baked goods will also be for sale.
Senior Fashion Show at Solomon’s Mission
Solomon’s Mission in Buchanan is having a Senior Fashion Show from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. on May 9. Activities include a fashion show, lunch, shopping and door prizes. All models will be wearing Solomon’s apparel. This is a free event for seniors for fun and fellowship.
Mother’s Day Tea at St. Mark’s
St. Mark’s United Methodist in Daleville will host a Mother’s Day Tea on Saturday, May 20 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p .m. Dine in the Tea Room atmosphere and make it an event to remember with family or friends. Traditional High Tea Fair is offered. If you choose to take a tea box to go, just drive up and the order will be put in your car.

Cloverdale Brethren Thrift Store has summer clothes
The Cloverdale Church of the Brethren Thrift Store now has spring and summer clothes for the family. The shop has a large selection of capris, shorts, summer dresses and shirts. Men’s shirts and pants and children’s clothes are also available. Hours are Saturdays, 9 to 12. Donations are always welcome. The Food Pantry is open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Shiloh Cemetery needs donations
Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery on Shiloh Road, Eagle Rock, is asking for those who have loved ones buried in the cemetery or own plots to give monetary donations to help with the upkeep of the cemetery. Expenses for gasoline, equipment and labor have gone up. If you have any questions, call 540-620-2625, or are interested in a final resting place. May 6 payment deadline for Pittsburgh trip
A Pittsburgh trip June 20-23 is being sponsored by St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, Daleville.
The Joyful Journey Travel Club of St. Mark’s UMC invites you to join them on their trip to Pittsburgh June 20-23; 3 days, 2 nights, $515 per person double occupancy ($664 per person single occupancy).
