Buchanan Food Pantry thankful for donations, open Nov. 22

The community response to the SOS from the Buchanan Presbyterian Church Food Pantry was phenomenal. Thank you to everyone who brought food and sent monetary donations. The shelves are full and all who need food will have a good Thanksgiving.

The next Food Pantry day will be Nov. 22, hosted by St. Mark’s United Methodist Church from 9 a.m. till 11 a.m. Anyone who needs food will be served a variety of staples. The church is at 19559 Main Street, Buchanan.

 

Ebenezer UMC Fall Festival Nov. 22

Ebenezer United Methodist Church will hold it annual Fall Festival on Saturday, Nov. 22, beginning at 8 a.m. The day will include crafts, miscellaneous items for sale, sausage gravy biscuits, hot dogs, baked goods and more. The church is located at 85 Nace Road, Troutville.

 

Healing services at Fincastle Presbyterian

Fincastle Presbyterian Church will host Wednesday Wholeness and Healing services on

Wednesdays, Nov. 19 and Dec. 17.  All are invited.

This is a short prayer service of quiet, music, and prayer followed by a time of fellowship with a light supper.  Meet in the fellowship hall at 5 p.m., 108 E. Back Street in Fincastle.

 

News from Springwood Baptist

All are invited to the Sunday morning service on Nov. 23 at Springwood Baptist Church, led by Pastor Mike Anderson. Following the service, there will be a Thanksgiving potluck meal. The church is located at 88 Copps Hill Road, Buchanan.

 

Cloverdale Thrift Store

Christmas has arrived! The store has sweaters for the holiday, $2; men’s and women’s coats, $5, and name brand boots for $2. Gently used donations are welcome. The store is open Saturdays, 9 to 12.
