Service of Prayer at Fincastle Presbyterian

Fincastle Presbyterian Church will be holding a Service of Prayer for Wholeness and Healing at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25. This is a special service of prayer, music, silence and scripture. This is an opportunity to gather in Christian community and draw closer to God and offer prayers for individuals and the local community, country and world. A light supper will follow in the fellowship hall. All are invited. The church is at 108 E. Back Street.

 

Buchanan Food Pantry open Saturday

St. Mark’s United Methodist Church will host the Buchanan Presbyterian Church Food Pantry Saturday, September 28, from 9 a.m. till 11 a.m. There will be meat, bread, milk and other staples for distribution. The pantry is open the second and fourth Saturdays of each month to any county resident who needs food. The church is located at 19559 Main Street, Buchanan.

 

‘Worship in the Park’ in Troutville Sunday

Troutville Baptist Church welcomes everyone to “Worship in the Park” Sunday, September 29, at 11 a.m. Dress comfortably and bring a lan chair to Troutville Park for the song and devotion service.

 

Woodland Church Homecoming September 29

Woodland Church is celebrating more than 125 years of history by having a Homecoming service followed by a catered dinner on Sunday, September 29, at 10:30 a.m.

The Homecoming is for friends, family, and those looking for a church to call home. There will be music, videos of Woodland’s history, greetings from missionaries, etc.

Mount Olivet Homecoming October 6

Mount Olivet United Methodist Church (26310 Lee Highway, Buchanan) will be celebrating 195 years and Homecoming on Sunday, October 6, at 10 a.m. Ladies of Mercy will present music, and lunch will be served.  All are invited to the celebration.

 

Trinity UMC celebration October 26

Everyone is invited to join Trinity United Methodist Church for the 100th anniversary celebration of the reconstruction of the church building. Activities will begin at 10 a.m. and last until 2 p.m. on the church grounds at 19637 Main Street, Buchanan on Saturday, October 26. Activities will include games, free food, music and other surprises.

 

Election Eve Community Prayer Service

Buchanan Presbyterian Church is hosting a non-partisan Prayer Service from 7-7:30 p.m. on Monday, November 4. All are invited to come pray together for leaders, localities, and the next day’s elections. The church is located at 19559 Main Street in Buchanan.

 

Pork BBQ Dinner at Springwood Baptist

Springwood Baptist Church’s Annual Pork BBQ Dinner, sponsored by Aaron’s Smokehouse, will be held Saturday, October 26, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the church, 88 Copps Hill Road, Buchanan.

Each meal, priced at $12, includes two pork barbecue sandwiches, coleslaw, baked beans, and a drink. Desserts will be available for an additional charge.

This is a takeout-only event, with meals available on a first-come, first-served basis. No pre-sold tickets or reservations will be accepted. The public is invited.
