Fall festival at Solomon’s Mission this Saturday
Solomon’s Mission will hold its first fall festival Saturday, Oct. 3 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on the
Solomon’s Mission Community Center parking lot.
Entertainment will include The Rebels of Rhythm Cloggers at 10 a.m.; music by Keith Wood at 11 a.m. and Blue Connection at noon.
Community Church will sponsor a chili lunch from 11 a.m.-1 pm. Baked goods will be for sale by the SWAG youth ministry; there will be craft vendors, along with bubble art for kids.
The public is invited to bring a chair and enjoy some fall fun.
Springwood Food Pantry opening Oct. 17
The Springwood Baptist Food Pantry will reopen on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 9-11 a.m. after being closed for six months due to the pandemic. Regular clients are welcome, as well as others in the community who are in need of food.
The pantry is connected to Feeding America Southwest Virginia and provides a variety of food items to clients to supplement what families are able to provide for themselves.
The church is pleased to restart this ministry to provide quality food products to those people in need in the community.
Yard sale at Pierce Chapel Saturday
Pierce Chapel Church on Timber Ridge at US 220 will hold a yard sale from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3. There is no charge of set up and limited tables are available. There will be free hot dogs; donations accepted. The rain date is October 10.
