Claire was a faithful wife, mother, and grandmother and most well known as “Nannie.” Her family was the love of her life. She was a Girl Scout leader, Red Hat member, American Legion Auxiliary and a member of Buchanan Baptist Church. She enjoyed farm life, canning, and travel especially when flying. She traveled to Australia, Hawaii, Cayman Islands, Aruba, Alaska, Canada and many places in the U.S.  Her most fun cruise was with Dr. Charles Stanley.

Services were held in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home on Friday, August 12. Visitation with family was at 10 a.m. followed by the service at 11. A graveside service followed in Fairview Cemetery, Buchanan.

A very special thank you to the staff at Brookdale Memory Care, Roanoke; Heartland Hospice, especially Regina (RN); and At-Home Caregivers, especially Lauren.
