Liberty University in Lynchburg will be the site of the state Class 3 & 4 track meet this Friday and Saturday and Lord Botetourt will have athletes competing.
Last Thursday the Cavaliers competed in the Region 3D meet in Abingdon and the host Falcons swept both team titles. The Abingdon girls scored 112 points to 75.4 for second place Christiansburg and the boys edged William Byrd by two points, 104 to 102. Both Lord Botetourt teams finished eighth.
Two Cavalier girls took third places, Jillian Harris in the 100 hurdles and Alicia Holmes in the long jump. Holmes also took fourth in the triple jump and fifth in the shot put while Harris took seventh in both the long and triple jumps.
Anne Thorne of LB was fourth in the 1,600 and sixth in the 800. Ratie Jensen was sixth in the 100, Jaiden Dann was eighth in the shot and the LB 4×800 relay team was seventh.
For the boys, Triston Graves was fourth in the 110 hurdles and sixth in the 200. Ethan Thorne was fifth in both the 800 and 1,600 and Caleb Miller took fifth in the 110 hurdles. Quinten Jones was sixth in the 100, Preston Vaughn was eighth in the 3,200 and the LB 4×100 relay team took fourth.
