LB girls tennis is in state quarterfinal Saturday, Region singles and doubles is in Christiansburg

The Lord Botetourt girls tennis team is the Region 3D runner-up and has earned a spot in the state tournament. Botetourt will travel to Western Albemarle Saturday, June 1, for a 2 p.m. state quarterfinal match.

Botetourt earned a spot in the state with two shutout wins. The Cavaliers beat Magna Vista, 9-0, and Staunton River, 5-0, to clinch a spot in the state. They lost to Abingdon, 5-0, in the region final, giving the Cavs a road trip to open the state. LB is 15-2 overall.

Region 3D singles and doubles were scheduled to begin on Tuesday of this week in Blacksburg with region championship matches today.
